Frequently Asked Questions
Our play dough is made from kitchen ingredients. The ingredients include flour, salt, cream of tartar, vegetable oil, water, and food colouring.
You can choose to have our dough lightly scented with pure essential oils including lavender, geranium or chamomile or unscented totally. The Tiny Trove play dough is prepared in a peanut-free kitchen; however, we use third party ingredients and cannot guarantee these ingredients do not contain traces of peanuts.
While our play dough is made of natural ingredients and smells tempting, it is NOT intended for consumption. Parental supervision is highly recommended during play.
All The Tiny Trove play dough is made to order to ensure quality and freshness. Therefore do expect a short waiting time for your dough to be prepared and sent out.
If you have an urgent order, you may contact us on Instagram or through our Contact Us page and we will try our best to help fulfill your order.
The Tiny Trove play dough is best played with clean hands and on a clean, dry surface. To prevent drying, always keep the play dough back into the air tight container after every play. Unlike other brands, we do not recommend storing them in a refrigerator, as condensation will affect the quality of the play dough. We also recommend keeping the dough out of direct sunlight for temperature control and against colour fading.
Keeping in places such as inside a shelf or a cupboard would be ideal.
If slight drying occurs, you may add a few drops of vegetable oil and squish your play dough back to life!
The Tiny Trove play dough will last between 3-6 months or even longer if played with regularity (at least once a week) and stored properly in an air tight container.
Always perform a sight and smell test before play. Should you notice any mold on your dough or weird smell, discard immediately and replace with a fresh set.
The Tiny Trove products are designed for little ones who are developing their fine motor skills and play dough is the ideal learning tool. The squeezing and pinching actions on the dough helps them to build up strength on their little fingers and arms while playing with the tools like rolling sculpting also helps to enhance their hand-eye coordination. And lastly, who doesn't like creating beautiful patterns and creations!
Generally, the recommended age for starting play dough is 18 months. However, we believe that little ones as young as one year old are able to enjoy play dough as long as they are strong enough to sit upright for a prolonged time. Guided play with adult supervision is required to ensure a fun and safe playtime.
So for babies, we’re definitely not ready for a water bead sensory bin just yet. However, we believe that little ones as young as below one year old are able to enjoy waterbeads. Place waterbeads into sensory bottles or ziplock bags for them to enjoy the play safely. Although waterbeads are non-toxic and environmentally safe, they can be a choking hazard for younger kids or children who still mouth items. Adult supervision is always required for waterbeads activity.
